Ross has led numerous groups and organizations throughout his life.  He served as President of the House of Scotland International Cultural Cottage in Balboa Park for 2 years.  For almost 5 years he served as President and Pipe Major of the House of Scotland Pipe Band, also of Balboa Park.

Ross organized and conducted weekly practices, arranged music, tuned instruments, and organized trips and competitions all around the world.  He also served as Bagpipe Instructor for the San Diego Law Enforcement Emerald Society Pipes and Drums.
